Congratulations to a most esteemed teacher. In 1961-63 While attending Shortwood Teachers College Rev.Russell taught me something that has sustained me all my life. He said that in a country like jamaica where grandmothers played such a loving, caring parenting role, children could understand and relate to God more easily if the prayer was, "Our Grandmother who art in heaven...".
This resonated with me since the only person who had shown me unconditional love up to that time of my life,
was my beloved Grandma Annie.

My journey of faith has taken a very circuitous path, but always I have used this analogy to live within my privilege as God's daughter. Today, at age seventy and living in Canada for the past forty years, the gift of this amazing teacher is bearing fruit not only in my life but in that of the hundreds of children I have taught and their offsprings as well.

Thank you Rev. Russell!

I wish to extend my belated congratulations to Dr. Russell. I had the privileged of being one of his students at Calabar High in the '60's.
