The Jamaican Government should do much more for a school such as Calabar High! All corporate businesses and the chamber of commerce should should get on board to assist this Great School and not to sit idly by while this great institution fall apart. This school is one of the top high schools in jamaica and should remain so for years to come.
I say to the management; keep up the good work and be of good courage. My son will enter in September. God Bless Calabar!

im a parent of one of c-bars promising student,im voicing my concern in response to an article i saw of the schools facilities,i must say from what ive seen if i did not know the repitation calabar school have carries,i would have been gutted 2 take my son from there,but the overall thing is the same students of the institution are the same ones who are destroyin the facilities.my opinion is there should b tightier restrictions and more detentions for the persons who is caught vandalising their own school materials and facilities…in order for a better calabar each and every one at the institution has to pull together and answer here sir, here sir to the calabar call.

Calabar high school has improve there protection towards the children and that’s what Calabar needed. Too many robery was taking place.The next thing is the weapons.I was playing football and a boy pulled a knife from his waist.Telling us not to touch the ball.Apart from the voilence the school is the best in sports and a little on academics.Calabar is very old school and we need to keep Calabar’s tradition of good work.we need this school to keep it’s unity with peace and pride.

IT is amazing that inexpensive projects such as a beautification project for the entrance of the school has been so long in comming.Just imagine how easy it would be if each sixth form boy and a few past students should take a plant each to the school on a early saturday morning and decide to plant and maimtain them.BOGANVILAS comes in several different colours and are durable plant.what do you think.we have to highten the morale of the boys by preparing an environment suitable for learning and one that they can be proud of.omarthluck@yahoo.com

i attended calabar between 1996 and 2001.i must say its a shame to see the condition of the school.You would not know by looking at it that this is the school of greats such as Sir Phillip Sherlock,Rev Hugh Sherlock,Dr Arthur Wint, Herb Mckenley,P.J Patterson etc.However,i have started to play my part in hightening the morale of the students by documenting the schools history and highlighting the acheivements of some of our past students who have made a mark on Jamaica land we love and in most instances the world.The idea is to have the information placed around the schools compound on plaques to remind the boys that this is not just another school BUT this is CALABAR HIGH SCHOOL and that they have a reputation to preserve.To support this venture contact omarthluck@yahoo.com

I give my support to this Project and also give thanks to the persons who placed this idea forward.However, on a more serious matter, it is all good that we have our ideas and also that we have a reasonable method of carrying it out. However, it makes no sense to complete all this hard work if it is going to be going down the drain in a couple months. The fact is that some current students at Calabar have no respect for school property and they could care less about discipline. Before moving forward on the matter of Infrastructure and extra-curricular activities we need to first devise a method as to how we are going to teach the boys respect of school property and the value and importance of discipline. As for the “social” recommended by the fellow sixth former, if we don’t all understand by now why a social can no longer be held on the grounds of Calabar then we wont understand again. The truth is as I have pointed out already “the lack of discipline”, why are you going to add more wood to an already blazing fire? The boys cannot be trusted!!!! That would just cause more trouble and I recognize that you also recommended heavy security, the boys don’t even respect the securities that we see on a daily bases so why do you think they are going to respect the ones they have no ties with.If you want a social activity to be held, then recommend that the S.F.A helps with the planning and promoting of the school’s BAR-B-Q and any other activities that are not held on the school compound. Good luck on the project guys and please keep in mind the things I’ve pointed out. GOD BLESS!!!!

i am in the S.F.A. and the plans that we have for the school which was brought forth by our love is one inwhich will help the school to continueing being the greatest. if the S.F.A. is given more oppertuniest to carry out there program of helping the school then there will be alot of stress taken of the admin back. i still wish to know how can a school such as calabar be broke when just the name alone attract people. we are know for being the hypest the most exciting school and this year admin is making our name vanish rite b4 us. if u do think of it 1 social that calabar puts on up by the school with proper security can generate a profit no less than 20,000. emagin wat 3 socials a year can do for the school. the funds from this could be use to take care of problems such as painting over some parts of the school, beautifying the school and repairing. the admin needs to do everything they can now to take hold of the school before they lose for good

i also belive that the school should stop hiring teachers who arnt experienced enough. we are the best high school and so the teachers should be verry experienced and qualified to work there. i also belief that the 6th formers should be brought in on the issue of the boys. if the school utalise the 6th formers into helping them then the struggle which is there with the boy actingg up would be limited greatly.

calabar is the greatest high school in jamaica and we are the lions that represent it. we are the king of the jungle, the royalties and with this i think that the school should remind the boys that they are the once who have the honor of attending the school and stop acting as if they have to keep anyone around. if they let the boys see that they are serious with them and clear on the decplinary actions that will be taken against them them the boys wont be distroying the school. the staff needs to wake up and stop playing around with the school
